Role Overview

Working within a busy and successful branch, the Senior Internal Sales Executive will be responsible for managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations, and delivering technical product solutions to an established customer base. This is a desk-based role requiring strong electrical product knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving branch sales growth through effective account management, proactive quotation follow-up, and excellent customer service, ensuring customers receive the right solutions to meet their requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with an existing portfolio of customers
- Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for electrical products and solutions
- Proactively follow up quotations to maximise conversion rates and secure sales opportunities
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to identify suitable products and provide effective solutions
- Provide technical product advice and support to customers
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms in line with company guidelines
- Process sales orders and ensure a seamless customer experience from enquiry through to delivery
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to source products and resolve technical queries
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and strengthen existing customer relationships
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using internal systems
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the branch
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within an electrical wholesale or electrical distribution environment is essential
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution products and applications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proven experience in preparing quotations, negotiating sales, and converting opportunities into orders
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Customer-focused with a personable and professional approach
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Good IT skills with experience using sales, quotation, or ERP systems
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities effectively
- Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to progress into future branch management opportunities

- Competitive salary up to £55,000 DOE
- Annual bonus of up to 7.5%
