Job Description

Murray Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialise manufacturing facility based in Lanarkshire who due to continued growth and significant increase in orders are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Support/ Maintenance Technician to join their team.

You will report to the Process & Manufacturing Engineering Manager to provide technical support to the production, QA and Engineering departments.

Duties include:

  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of day to day running of production equipment offering technical support and ongoing preventative maintenance whilst ensuring a safe work environment is maintained.
  • Support production teams to ensure output and quality targets are achieved and Feedback production issues to key stakeholders.
  • Assist with, implement, and drive continuous improvement on production lines.
  • Will work closely with the manufacturing team, as well as other support groups and technical staff to resolve issues that arise related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, waste/scrap reduction and drive efficiency.
  • Participate, Implement, and resolve corrective actions based on root cause analysis
  • Plan, install and commission new equipment and develop new processes and process workflows.
  • Maintain equipment following PPM and calibration requirements.
  • Implement changes to the processes and apply changes to similar projects where applicable.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimal of 3-5 years’ experience in a Production Maintenance role is essential.
  • Experience with Assembly and Production Operations is essential.
  • Experience in Electronic Design and Mechanical Engineering would be beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are essential with the ability to assess and analyse situations and make effective decisions keeping the interests of the company and its’ employees in mind.
  • Must be able to plan and organise own time and set realistic work plans in the interests of company targets
  • Excellent computer skills are essential with knowledge of Microsoft office would be advantageous.
  • A good level of competency in the use of power / hand tools / mill and lathe machines always working to H&S guidelines.
  • A willingness to further their development via in house or external training.


  • Salary: £22,000 – £25,000
