Job Description
Murray Recruitment is currently recruiting an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s esteemed Building Services team based at their Head Office in Paisley.
This role would someone at the beginning of there career in estimating and quantity surveying, looking to advance their career within a dynamic and supportive team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare payment schedules for clients related to current reactive and PPM contracts.
- Attend site visits to conduct on-site measurements and scoping, enabling the production of accurate cost estimates and quotations.
- Prepare detailed quotations and estimates for various projects.
- Financially monitor projects, including tracking design and construction changes and adjusting budget projections as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with Project, PPM, and Reactive Maintenance managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with standard construction contracts and regulations, as well as health and safety matters.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to all estimating and quantity surveying activities.
- Provide support in negotiating and managing contracts with clients and subcontractors.
Experience and Skills Needed:
- Previous experience within a similar position.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Estimating/Quantity Surveying and/or relevant experience.
- Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings with an excellent knowledge of construction processes.
- Strong numerical and IT skills, with proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Practiced knowledge of standard construction contracts and regulations.
- Understanding of health and safety matters related to the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Full Driving Licence

- Salary up to £35k per annum
- 37.5 hours per week
