Job Description

Murray Recruitment have an immediate new vacancy available for a Compliance Engineer to join a design and manufacturing client based in South Lanarkshire.

The role of Senior Compliance Engineer will work with internal project/design teams to ensure compliance and the product designs is satisfied. Thereafter to ensure the ongoing product lifetime compliance needs to be monitored to ensure ongoing compliance.

Main duties and responsibilities 

  • Maintain and develop the list of global product approvals.
  • Manage the formal application processes to all national and international external agencies for the purpose of assessing group products and obtaining test reports and certificates required to comply with national and international law and Standards. Project management of these tasks.
  • Agree, devise, and prepare 3rd party testing samples.
  • Guide & advise the group product design processes and research functions to incorporate product safety designs and to assist with the time and resource project planning of external testing.
  • Liaise with external bodies and agencies to gain and maintain product approvals, certifications/accreditations and to find suitable solutions to related problems as and when they occur.
  • Correlation/creation & management of all technical data required to maintain all legal, industry standard and international certifications.
  • Disseminate Compliance information comprehensively, both internally and externally, into Sales and Marketing literature and product information.
  • Provide Compliance related training materials & training sessions of relevant personnel and promote internally a better understanding of the issues relating to, and affecting, global product certifications.
  • Interaction with quality assurance dept on all aspect’s product compliance.
  • Arrange, participate, and assist with externally initiated company inspection audits.
  • Develop strategies and implementation plans for product compliance related issues.
  • Oversee/conduct testing strategies and procedures of product groups & products’ compliances.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree Level with a suitable discipline or 5 year’s experience in a similar role.
  • Application of global compliance processes and emerging compliance trends within Instrumentation & Process measurement sector.
  • CE, UKCA, and other international product Marking/Compliance schemes
  • Specifically, ATEX Directive & IECEx Scheme and competency with Mechanical and Electrical Haz Area Protection concepts.
  • Electro-Mechanical Design Engineering disciplines of the Process Instrumentation Industry.
  • Reading and interpreting current International Standards, including legal harmonization & version status/alignments.
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Management of Engineering Teams
  • CAD systems.
  • Hosting of Independent Inspection Audits.
  • Technical Document writing.
