Job Description

Overview

As Transport Manager, you will take full ownership of the company’s transport operations, working closely with the transport team to manage both planned and reactive work across the commercial and industrial sectors. This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

-Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture, ensuring a strong focus on safety across all operations and throughout the business.

  • Holding and managing the company operator’s licence.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory bodies.
  • Driving continuous improvement by optimising operations and processes.
  • Identifying, implementing, and continuously reviewing new technologies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate records related to vehicles, driver cards, and driver assessments.
  • Using data to optimise driver performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Mentoring and developing team members, ensuring succession plans are in place for all roles.
  • Collaborating with the management team to implement process improvements, embrace new technologies, and adopt new products.
  • Preparing financial forecasts, understanding commercial changes, and leading the transport budgeting process.
  • Carrying out any other duties as required by the business.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of transport and logistics.
  • CPC Certificate holder.
  • Knowledge of fleet management.
  • Experience in leading garage services (desirable but not essential).
  • Relevant industry knowledge (desirable but not essential).
