Role Overview
The Assistant Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations, supporting the wider team with project planning and budget control. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of construction processes and a keen eye for detail, looking to further their career within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend site visits to carry out on-site measurement and scoping
- Produce cost estimates and quotations based on site assessments
- Assist in the preparation of reports for internal management review
- Support the commercial team in developing pricing strategies
- Work alongside construction managers and maintenance teams to gather project requirements
Skills & Experience
- Experience within an Assistant Estimator position
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Excellent knowledge of construction processes
- Strong numerical and IT skills
- Experience using NSR or similar schedule of rates
- HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, or relevant industry experience
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to multiple sites
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn specialist software
